Advanced Institute for Integrated Research on Livestock and Animal Sciences (AIIRLIVAS), affiliated with TANUVAS

The B.Tech. Dairy Technology programme at the Advanced Institute for Integrated Research on Livestock and Animal Sciences (AIIRLIVAS), affiliated with Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS), has been newly established to train skilled professionals for the dairy and allied sectors. With the growing demand for milk and dairy products, the programme focuses on imparting technical knowledge and practical skills required for modern dairy processing and management.

The curriculum follows TANUVAS academic standards and combines fundamental engineering concepts with specialized dairy technology subjects. Students are trained in dairy chemistry, dairy microbiology, milk processing, dairy engineering, dairy product technology, refrigeration, packaging and quality assurance. The programme also includes training in milk procurement, dairy plant operations, and equipment handling.

AIIRLIVAS is proposed to provide well-equipped dairy processing laboratories, pilot-scale equipment, and experienced faculty to ensure hands-on learning. Emphasis is placed on hygiene, food safety standards and quality control practices. Students are also encouraged to undergo internships, industrial training and research projects.
